The legendary cabaret duo of Stormin Norman and Suzy will be performing their 50th Anniversary concert at Gateway City Arts' Divine Theater for one night only on Friday, July 28th .

Once one of New England's most celebrated acts, performing in the places like Alice's Restaurant at Avaloch, Cafe Lena's, The Red Lion, and many, many clubs and concert halls throughout the region and islands. While showcasing at Tramps in NYC they were highly reviewed and praised by both the N.Y. Times and Village Voice. They opened for Manhattan Transfer at Carnegie Hall among many notable performances.

Originating in Boston, through the decades of their touring no audience was ever less than entertained with their originality, humor and musicianship. This is a show not to be missed, and one may get a sample of their quirky style in their numerous Youtube videos

New York Times Review

New York has not seen anything quite like Stormin’ Norman and Suzy, who are appearing through next weekend at Tramps, 125 East 15th Street. Stormin’ Norman, whose real name is Norman Zamcheck, inlays a spare, jabbing style of boogie piano and writes wryly distinctive songs which seem to exist in the present, the 1920's and several other time frames at once.

Suzy Williams interprets Mr. Zamcheck's captivating songs with a controlled sort of frenzy. shaking and shimmying across Tramp's tiny stage and belting out the more extroverted tunes without once overdoing her redhot-mama mannerisms. She is a natural performer and an original whose style seems to owe little to anyone, with the possible exception of her confessed idol, Bessie Smith.

The music is old-timey without being camp, and modern without sounding strident, and Miss William's energy and antics must be seen to be believed. Hopefully, Stormin’ Norman and Suzy will stay in New York long enough to conquer it.
